Hi! I’m Fotini from Glamorous, Affordable Life and I’m super excited to be here today!! I am so thrilled to be a monthly contributor here, sharing some of my passion for creating and crafting! I can’t wait to share a super simple, but oh so adorable project with you all today!
If you follow along with me on my blog, you know that my style is farmhouse-chic. If you don’t follow along with me yet, I sure would love to have you 😉 So, today we are staying in my comfort zone of farmhouse and creating a little something for the kitchen.
While at one of my (weekly) shopping trips to Jo Ann Fabrics, I spotted an adorable set of {3} cow magnets. Right away I thought these would be absolutely adorable as hooks for a coat rack! So, that’s just what I made them!! I headed a few aisles down and picked up a natural wood piece and a package of wood doll pin stands.
Once I was home, using wood glue, I attached the doll pins equally to the wood piece. Allow enough time for the wood glue to really dry before you begin painting. I first stained the piece a dark walnut and let dry. Next, I used a white chalk paint and gave it a good heavy coat. After everything was dry, I went around the piece with a sanding block and scuffed some of the paint up for the worn look. To finish, I used Miss Mustard Seeds furniture wax. I love how this product leaves the wood.
I attached a sawtooth hanger to the back and voila! Just like that, I have a super adorable, pretty simple farmhouse coat rack!
It’s perfect in the kitchen for your apron or dish towels! Isn’t it darling?
