Is your family constantly on “the go?” Do you feel like you’re running ragged trying to remember what practice, birthday party, dentist appointment, is when and where? Well let me tell you how I manage my family’s schedule!

I’ve had a few people ask me how in the world I manage all of the things going on in my life. If you don’t know me well, I’ll give you a brief overview of what’s going on in “Jessica-Land.”

First, you should check out my “About” page if this is your first time visiting, to give you a brief description of who I am.

Second, I have a two year old, and a 3 month old. Let’s hear it other Mom’s… that’s a full-time job in itself, right?

Well, here’s what else is going on… I also have a husband who travels a lot for work, I am the CFO of our Real Estate Development Company – Missouri Land Company,  I am a Thirty-One Representative, and I own and operate yours truly, “Fantabulosity.” Whew! Did I mention that my husband has TONS of meetings and business dinners that I have to take part in from time to time? Well we couldn’t survive if we didn’t have our online family planner.

So what is it that I use to organize my family’s schedule?

Google Calendar is our family’s life-saver, and GUESS WHAT… It’s FREE!!! We are able to have separate calendars, and can add other’s to our calendar so we can see their schedule. So in other words, I can see on my calendar when my husband has a 6:00 meeting on a Monday evening, so I know to plan dinner around that time.

You can also set up reminders, to be delivered as a “pop-up,” on your phone, or for it to send an e-mail. You can set how early {like 10 minutes or an hour before} you would like to receive your reminder too! This comes in very handy as time gets away from all of us on a daily basis it seems.

Nope, I’m not being paid to promote Google Calendar. I just always feel sorry for those people I see still writing on desktop calendars and pocket calendars. {I guess I’ll mention now that I have a small calendar planner in my purse because I CAN’T let go of paper all together just yet}. But Google Calendar can be a fantabulous family planner for you if you’re looking to be able to share everything with anyone you want to!

So how do you sign up?  If you have a Google account, then you’re good to go! Just go here:  Google Calendar,  and get a calendar started. Just walk through the set-up. It’s super easy. If you don’t have a Google account, I’d recommend setting one up, because you can use Google for so many things with a login.

A side-note:  We mesh our family calendar with our office calendar. Why? This way I can see if my husband’s assistant has set up a meeting for an evening or weekend, and that way she knows not to schedule any meetings on the days that I need my husband for our kiddos birthday party, a doctor appointment, etc. {Don’t like everyone knowing your business? That’s ok. You can create “private events,” and people will know that you’re “Busy,” but won’t need to know “why.” 🙂

So there ya go! You’re on your way to becoming an organized family! Watch others be VERY jealous of how “on top” of things you are! 😉

Do you organize your family’s schedule a different way that works great? I’d love to hear about! You can never have too many online organizing tools!
