No… I’m not pregnant. I just called this post the “New,” Nursery Home Tour because I finally, finally, finally… redecorated my son’s nursery.
If you’re new here, and you want to see the home tour from the beginning:
See our Craftsman Home Tour!
If you saw the first tour of his nursery, I admitted that I just reused his older brothers nursery decor. And not that it’s not ok… I was kind of getting sick of the old decor, and wanted to mix it up a little.
When I was shopping at Hobby Lobby one day, I came across a section that had this “wilderness, native, childlike,” vibe… and fell IN LOVE with it.
I knew immediately that it had to go somewhere in my house, and it HAD to replace that “old,” decor, in my youngest sons room. What I call, “The Nursery.”
Nursery Decor Boy
You know what’s crazy? I didn’t spend a ton of money on this nursery. I just bought a lot of wall art that was on sale, and that decorated the room for me.
If you’re having a baby, and you’re trying to decide if you should buy a:
ā¢ changing table
or
ā¢ just do a chest of drawers with a changing pad on top
… totally go for the chest of drawers with a changing pad on top. I think changing tables are a waste of money. When my baby boy is out of diapers, we will just remove the changing pad, and still utilize the chest of drawers. We won’t have this spare piece of furniture sitting around.
I found this wooden box from Gordmans, and I knew it would work brilliantly as a diaper caddy. It would hold diapers, wipes, and all of those little baby “things,” that are occasionally needed.
I am COMPLETELY smitten with this wall gallery. I’m kind of “hooked,” on arrows at the moment, and the white moose head {or whatever heck in the animal it is…} I HAD TO HAVE.
Oh the teepee. The teepee. I shared a photo on my Instagram and Facebook the other day of a sneaky peeky of my little boy room, and you all went nuts over the teepee! I know, I know, I did too when I saw it in the store. The best part? You know those 40% off coupons for Hobby Lobby? Yeah, I used that coupon on this, and knocked the price WAY down! Score!
The rug! Ahhh! The rug. I do know that with two little boys, a white rug is risky. However, this is probably the riskiest thing I’ll ever do, because I’m pretty lame. So why not.
Well I couldn’t decorate a room with a teepee in it, without having the little matching teepee sign next to it… š
The stool! Yes, I know. I put this in a little boys room. But come on… before I know it, he’ll be grown and won’t let me put little fuzzy things anywhere near him. I don’t have a girl, so this was my sneaky way of getting my “girly,” creative side in. š
Oh the curtains. I once had the dark, navy blue… blackout curtains in his room. Even though it kept things pretty dark in there fore him to sleepy sleepy when he was younger, ugh… they were just dreadful. They did just what they were supposed to… block the light. I’m a huge natural light person. Since my little guy was getting older and sleeping great thorugh the night, I wanted to risk taking the light darkening curtains out. I’m so glad that I did. The “white,” really “pops,” and adds that “happy,” feeling to the room, rather than that dark-dreadful “black hole,” appeal. Haha!
Sometimes it’s so hard to decorate around a baby monitor, right? So I just kept it simple, and put the “white,” baby monitor on the white shelf, so it would blend in. Then, added a pop of color with the “Love you to the moon and back,” wooden box {I picked up at Gordmans.} But the little “Wild,” sign also came from Hobby Lobby.
Oh the little sleep corner. From the moment we moved in to our house, I knew this little “cut out,” in the bedroom would be where his crib would go.
Side note: when your little one outgrows their crib, you should see the DIY of what my sister did with their old crib!
I felt like I hit the jackpot when I found this bedding. However… I realized after I took the photos, I forgot to “steam,” the bed skirt, and you can REALLY REALLY see the wrinkles. Sorry about that.
It matched perfectly with the theme that I had going on, and that little touch of color was needed with so much black/brown/white in the rest of the room.
Here’s a close-up of the sheets and baby blanket that came with the bedding set.
The set came with a sheet, baby blanket, bed skirt, and comforter.
You can buy the bedding set HERE!
The wall above the crib needed a little something, to replace the dinosaur wall art that I took down.
{A couple of friends and I stared at the wall for about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to arrange these two little items. At an angle? Parallel? This is what we ended up with…} It worked fabulous.
The little “night-night,” area received a mini re-decoration too. The book shelves stayed {A.K.A. The spice racks from IKEA that I painted}, and I just added a couple pieces of wall art.
That’s our baby boy nursery! Whew, I’m glad to have that task completed. It was fun, but I tend to over analyze everything a little much. Baby Boy Nursery Operation Redecoration, COMPLETE!

Bryan & Missy Lanning from Daily Bumps copied your nursery to a : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGZw9ZAOUi4

Oops. That was supposed to say “to a T”!

Hey Morgan! Thank you for the comment! Most of my room decor came from Hobby Lobby, so I really can’t take credit for the decor itself. I guess the only thing I can take credit for, is the way I displayed it in the room! Haha!! But do you know how much I adore the fact that you took time out of your life to come over here and leave me a comment!? You’re so kind! Please never hesitate to reach out again! XO
