3tablespoonsgranulated sugardivided
Pinchof salt
1/4teaspooncinnamon
Peaches:
2 29-ouncecans of peachesdrained
¼cuppacked light brown sugar
¼cupgranulated sugar
3/4teaspoonsvanilla
¾teaspoonscinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place butter in a 9x13 pan and place the pan in the oven to melt the butter while the oven preheats.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together Bisquick Mix, sugar, and salt. Whisk in milk until smooth. Set aside.
Take the pan out of the oven when the butter is melted, about when the oven is preheated.
In a large bowl, stir together peaches, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Pour Bisquick mix into the pan with the melted butter without mixing.
Spoon peach mixture over the top of the butter and bisquick mixture, placing evenly in the pan.
Mix 1 tablespoon of sugar and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle over the peaches.
Carefully place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. Cobbler is done when it is golden brown and a toothpick test comes out clean.
Let cobbler cool 15-30 minutes and serve warm with ice cream if desired.
Notes
Allow to cool fully. It's key to allow the cake to cool completely before frosting, or the frosting will not turn out as it should.
Correct temperature. Butter, eggs, and cream are the key ingredients that should be at room temperature before making this easy recipe.
Thickness of Batter: The consistency of your batter greatly affects the texture of the cobbler topping. Aim for a pourable but thick consistency to ensure a fluffy outcome upon baking.
Fruit Layering: When layering the peaches over the batter, resist the urge to mix. This allows the batter to rise through the fruit and create a naturally crusted topping.
Golden Topping: For an even more desirable golden crust, brush the top with a small amount of melted butter in the last 10 minutes of baking.
Baking Dish: Glass or ceramic baking dishes tend to yield the best results for evenly baked cobblers. Remember to adjust your baking time if you’re using a dish that conducts heat differently than what's suggested.
