In a small bowl, mix together the peanut butter and syrup until evenly combined. (Or you can simply spread the peanut butter on the bread and then drizzle the syrup on top, however mixing it together gives the sandwich a more evenly distributed flavor combo.)
Once mixed, using a spoon, carefully spread the peanut butter-syrup mixture on one slice of bread.
Top with the remaining slice of bread and serve! (Or see additional ideas, toppings, etc. in the blog post!)

SubstitutionsIf you're not a fan of peanut butter or syrup, here are sub substitutions (like other nut butters) you can experiment with to see if you like that more:
Honey - this can be used instead of syrup which will still give it a sweetness you're looking for!
Chocolate Syrup
Caramel Syrup
Almond Butter
Nutella
Cashew Butter
Seed Butter - you may be able to find a pumpkin seed butter or even a sunflower butter to use instead of peanut butter.
VariationsWant to do a little more on your peanut butter and syrup sandwiches? Here are some fun ideas to add to it:
Sweet - marshmallows (like we added to this marshmallow pb& j) or mashmallow fluff
Jelly - Add your favorite jelly or jam (For instance: orange marmalade, grape jelly, strawberry jelly)
Cook sandwiches - instead of eating the sandwiches room temperature, you can cook them over medium heat (like you would a grilled cheese) and once golden brown, serve! The melty peanut butter, combined with the now warm syrup just may be the best way to consume this sandwich!
