easy breakfast recipe, strawberry french toast, weekend breakfast recipe
butter or non stick cooking spray
for greasing the griddle
In a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks, heavy cream, and cinnamon together
Preheat your griddle to 350 and coat with butter or cooking spray
Dip one piece of bread into the egg mixture, and coat both sides of the bread, placing on the griddle when coated.
Repeat with the remaining 7 slices of bread.
Cook french toast for 1 minute/or until browned, and flip, cooking for another minute until brown on the other side.
When all 8 slices are cooked, stack on top of one another to trap in heat while preparing cream cheese filling. (I put mine in the microwave - not heating - but to only keep warm.)
In a mixing bowl, mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar.
Slice 3-4 strawberries and add to cream cheese mixture. Mix until strawberries have mixed into the filling.
Next assemble stuffed french toast by placing a piece of french toast on a plate, and top with about a tablespoon of the strawberry cream cheese filling. Spread on top of the french toast.
Top with another piece of french toast.
Top with another dollop of filling, syrup, strawberry slices, and powdered sugar.
To let the cream cheese "warm" a bit, let the warm french toast, warm the filling before serving!
