This edible cookie dough recipe is safe to eat because it doesn't have raw eggs or raw flour, and you can even make it without brown sugar if you prefer!
Start by heat treating (cooking) the flour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Evenly spread the flour on it.
Place flour in oven and bake for about 8 minutes .
You don’t want the flour to brown, but you do want it to reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
When it’s ready remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
Remaining Ingredients for Edible Cookie Dough
In a large bowl, add butter. Using a hand mixer beat it until smooth.
Next, add the vanilla extract, brown sugar, and white sugar.
Mix that until it’s thick, smooth, and fluffy.
Gradually, add in flour a little at a time. Once all of the flour is mixed it should have an almost crumbly appearance.
Now add the milk. Mixing again with hand mixer until “dough” is smooth all the way through.
Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula!
