Hey All!

I wanted to share one last post on our new home construction. If you missed “Part 1” of our new home construction, check it out here: Our New Home Construction (Part 1)

Wrapping Up Our New Home Construction (Part 2)

We are now moved in, and are finally getting some things put together! We are FAR from being finished, but it’s at least livable, and comfortable! All of the baby things are pulled out of storage, washed, and eh hm… Organized. Ok ok… maybe not organized… but it’s at least clean and in eye sight!

Here’s our living room! I’m in LOVE! We have a sectional that sits right in front of that fireplace, for those cold winter nights, while watching a good reality show on TV! 😉  (Yeah yeah, I’m a reality tv show junkie.)

I think the stone work turned out GREAT, and I’m DYING to decorate that mantle for all of the upcoming seasons!

Fill Those Cabinets!

An organizer and entertainers love! My husband sure didn’t shorthand the cabinet space in the new house construction, and I couldn’t be more pleased! Would you believe I still have empty cabinets after getting all of my kitchen items in!? Not for long… I’ll for sure be finding some things to store in those empty spaces! 😉

I can’t help but picture our family and friends standing around the island, chowing down on some good ole party foods! Can’t wait to put that to good use! Do you like islands in kitchens? I’m becoming a huge fan!

New Home Construction Part 2-Kitchen Design

Oh and the ELK… did I mention that my husband has THREE elk mounts, and that he wants to put them up in our house? Ummm… yeah… my modern taste, with his rustic dead animals will surely create a new décor category. Stay tuned to see how I end up decorating around these things. Hmmm…

But for now… one of them will sit in my living room floor until it is hung. Talk about a conversation piece.

All For Now…

I know it’s not much, but I wanted to give a little teaser to hold you all over until I post the rest.

UPDATE: See the entire home tour HERE!

My next post(s) will be the finished-decorated/organized spaces in our home! I’ve gotten to work on some of it already, but I’m holding out until it’s completely done to snap some pics and share. (But is it ever really done? Nah… because who knows when you’re shopping somewhere and you see something that would look amazing in a space!)

Now, if someone could give a woman who is 39 weeks pregnant, a burst of energy to finish these new home construction projects, I’d surely appreciate it! Until next time…

  1. Absolutely beautiful. I have total kitchen envy, but that’s okay 🙂 I think the stone work is wonderful. My husband has his fair share of deer heads around and even a wild hog skull, but that was relegated to the man cave, ha!

You’re too sweet! Good for you for directing it to the man cave! Haha! That cracks me up!

The fireplace and kitchen are absolutely gorgeous. We have 2 deer mounts-one on each side of the television in the living room right now. In our last house, there was one in our bedroom. Yeah, I put the stop to that in this one 🙂 All his skulls are banished to the garage.
You are a trooper! Although I was only ever 39 weeks pregnant once (the other three came early), I never wanted to do anything but sleep!

    1. Jessica says:

Oh man… he mentioned putting something up in the bedroom and I TOTALLY put a stop to that one too! LOL! That’s so funny! I can’t believe how many of us have dead animal struggles in common! Haha!
I could totally sleep all day long… but then I lay there and think of everything that I could be doing, so I make myself get up! Lol. Thanks so much for stopping by! XO!

  3. You are taunting all of us with these house pics! Can’t wait to see more. 🙂 Love your stone fireplace, it is gorgeous.

    1. Jessica says:

LOL! Thank you for stopping by! I can’t wait to share it all! XO!

I love house photos! Im starting an interior design blog in the next couple of months and will be showing remodeling. : )

    1. Jessica says:

Oooooh! I can’t wait to see it! I’ll need some tips!

I knew your new home would be beautiful! A guy thinks animal heads can go anywhere. Is there a man-cave-type room in the house (or out of the house)? Elk is special, though – a little more rare than deer heads, so I know he wants to hang it (them) with pride all over the house! Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you do in the future to decorate your home for each season. Happy new home! I pray you and your family have many happy years full of special memories there. <3

Oh you are too sweet! Unfortunately, with Elk mounts, the stinking antlers are always too big to put in a basement, (The ceilings are too low) and they need hung in a vaulted area (which our living area and dining room, lol!)
But he did build us a wonderful home, and if he wants the elk heads on the wall, I’ll give it to him. 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by!

The kitchen pantry style including the ceramic looks like me, but this is much tidier and and mind is a bit dusty. It is an absolutely a dream house I’d love to have… 🙂

    1. Jessica says:

Lol! Oh trust me… everything in my house is dusty!!! I just edit that out! Haha! Thanks for stopping by!

  7. House stonework is a good way to add value to your home. and it looks good too.

    1. Jessica says:
