Christmas Chex Mix: A cereal mixture, covered in melted chocolate with delicious chocolate candies. It's a great snack that's perfect for the holiday season and is a crowd pleaser!
1cupPeanut butter puff cerealWe used Reese's Puffs cereal
1cupChristmas M&M's
1cupmini Reese's cups
1½cupswhite chocolate chips
½cupPowdered Sugar
Instructions
First, thinking ahead, grab a large baking sheet and cover it completely with parchment paper.
Next, melt the chocolate baking chips in a large microwave-safe bowl (large enough that the cereal will fit in it after the chocolate is melted) following the package directions for melting. (Most will be to melt on half-power for 2 minutes, stirring in 30-second intervals. Do NOT overcook.)
Once the chocolate is completely melted, pour your dry cereal in to the bowl of white chocolate and carefully stir to mix, trying to make sure all of the cereal becomes covered, and trying not to break the cereal in to pieces.
Next, pour the powdered sugar on top of the chocolate-covered cereal and stir to combine.
Pour the cereal on to the prepared baking sheet and spread out, and allow the chocolate to cool and harden. (About 10 minutes.)
When the chocolate has cooled to room temperature, pour the candy on top of the cereal mixture and then stir to combine.
If desired, transfer the mix to a large serving bowl!
