Beanie weenies are a quick and easy dinner made with hot dogs and baked beans simmered in a sweet, smoky sauce. Ready in about 30 minutes and perfect for busy weeknights.
14ouncepackage all-beef hot dogs sliced into ½ inch pieces
2Tablespoonslight brown sugar
1TablespoonWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonapple cider vinegar
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoondijon mustard
½teaspoononion powder
½teaspoonchili powder
½teaspoonsmoked paprika
316-ounce cans original baked beans
Instructions
Brown the hot dogs. In a large heavy-bottomed skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter and then add the cut hot dogs, stirring and flipping them so they’re slightly browned on both sides. It should take about 5 minutes.
Add the spices. Stir in the light brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, dijon mustard, onion powder, chili powder, and smoked paprika until well combined and the sugar has dissolved completely (about 5 minutes).
Stir in the beans. Pour in the baked beans and mix really well. Cook until hot and starting to bubble. You can raise the temperature to medium-high if needed.
Cover and simmer. Once it's starting to bubble around the edges, cover with a lid, turn the heat to low. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
