Ingredients
½
cup
unsalted butter
1
cup
chocolate chips
2
cups
powdered sugar
12
ounces
evaporated milk
about 1½ cups
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine butter, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, and evaporated milk
Place over medium heat and stir constantly as everything melts together
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil
Continue cooking and stirring for 8 to 10 minutes until thickened
Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly
Serve warm over ice cream or your favorite dessert
Notes
This yields about 3 cups.
Stir constantly to prevent the chocolate from scorching
Don’t rush the boiling step, this is what thickens the sauce
If it gets too thick after cooling, just reheat and stir until smooth
Use good-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor
