Toast in the oven can be made by baking, broiling, using real butter, or vegetable spread. Here are the different ways and results that can be achieved.
Preferred method: Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on each slice of bread. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 5 minutes, and then flip, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Broiled
If using butter, spread on each side of the slice(s) of bread. Place on a baking sheet and place in to the oven set to "broil" and broil for one minute. Flip and broil for one more minute.
Notes
Thickness of bread, type of baking sheet, and choosing whether or not to butter the bread before toasting can make the cook times differ. It's best to watch the bread to learn your oven's behavior.
