Hot Strawberries and Cream Smoothie
As part of the “Make it Martha” team for Martha Stewart, I’m forever so grateful to snag some adorable and fun Martha Stewart products from time to time. Over the holidays I received the Snowflake Enameled Cast Iron Collector’s dish, and couldn’t WAIT to use it!
You can find more of the Martha Stewart Collection Cast Iron Cookware, at Macy’s.
You know what my favorite part of the snowflake design is? It looks like a snowflake but also looks like a fun design that I can use all year long. Yay for justification! I can’t WAIT to show you below what I made in this the other day! (Full recipe and printable recipe card, at the bottom of the page!)
How to Make a Hot Strawberries and Cream Smoothie:
Alright, so the other day I was standing in my pantry, looking at the package of smoothie mix that I had picked up during a recent grocery shopping trip. It was 17 degrees outside, and although I was in the mood to make something sweet, I didn’t want something ice cold. I wanted something quick, warm, and hot chocolate just wasn’t cutting it.
Then… it hit me. Why I can’t I use this mix to make a smoothie, but make it a hot one? Yeah. It had to happen, and I’m so glad that it did.
I began by dicing and muddling four strawberries…
Then, over low heat, (or you can use the microwave in you like) I heated up a package of the smoothie mix, 1 ¼ cups of almond milk and strawberries.
(You can totally use regular if you like, but I wanted that almond flavor added to mine that day.)
NOTE: I left some of the strawberries a little larger for the photos so you could see the deliciousness of the strawberries added in… but I may mash them more a little next time, so it goes down a bit smoother. You may want to do this too, ESPECIALLY if you’re a non-texture person when it comes to your food/drink.
Once it was heated it over low heat, and it was fully heated through, I poured it in to my favorite coffee mug and topped it with whipped cream. Totally not necessary, but totally delicious.
Perfect for a Hot Chocolate Bar…
How fantastic would this be as an addition to a hot chocolate bar? It’s great for those who aren’t a fan of chocolate, but it also adds variety (and a pretty pink color) to your hot chocolate bar too!

This looks so fun!! My oldest daughter is 3, so we’ve just now gotten into the excitement of some hot cocoa when it’s cold outside. She loves strawberries, and Texas is so insanely cold this winter, so I’m going to have to try this with her!! 🙂 – Mauri @www.theamericanpatriette.com
