It’s no secret that I love to entertain and throw parties.  So when I had the opportunity to throw a Gals Garden Party, I hopped on the idea.

The smaller, intimate settings are my favorite go-to’s, for a couple of reasons.

• Not as much work

• More one-on-one time with my closest gal pals

Gals Garden Party

The party set up was so fun, and extremely EASY… that I couldn’t wait to share how I did it with you all, so you can possibly create a garden party for a girls luncheon, bridal shower, etc.  The ground level table & seating, was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time.  It puts a twist on the average outdoor gathering.

DIY Set-Up

You won’t believe what I used to create the low-setting table.  CRATES.  Yes!  I’ve been wanting crates for a long time to create a little DIY project that I have in mind for the kiddos, and once I realized that I could use crates for both ideas… it was a no-brainer.  I headed to the store and picked some up.

Since there were just a few girls, I only picked up 4 crates.  Flipped them over, threw a sheet of yellow fabric over the top and viola… a table for the garden party! 😉

For seating, I looked high and low for patio cushions at the store… and came up empty handed.  Then, thankfully, a lightbulb went off in my head.  I HAD patio cushions, but they weren’t the right color.  So, realizing that I had red polkadot fabric in my overflowing, unorganized craft closet… I pulled it out and put it to use.  {Want to know a secret?  I used duck tape to seal the red fabric around the pillows! Haha!  But hey.. it worked.  Then, after the party, all I had to do was pull the red fabric off, and I had my blue/white striped patio cushions again!}

I used simple decor.  Simple = Classy in this type of setting.  Small cacti or flowers, a welcome sign, and a small serving cart full of some extras, was the perfect amount of simple.

Since this party set-up revolved around the lunch hour, and outdoors…I knew I wanted to keep the menu light and finger-foodish.

On the Menu:

• Cucumber Sandwiches

• Mini Fruit Salads

• Cobb Dip

The party set up was so fun, and extremely EASY... that I couldn't wait to share how I did it with you all, so you can possibly create a garden party for a girls luncheon, bridal shower, etc.  The ground level table & seating, was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time.  It puts a twist on the average outdoor gathering.

Every place setting had a little picnic lunch basket that I’ve been DYING to use for something, and this was the perfect excuse.  I placed a piece of white fabric inside each basket, and then gently placed the cucumber sandwiches in, and piled tortilla chips around the sandwiches to hold them in there.  {Chips for the dip}  The mini fruit salads were perfect for the small green polka cups that I had also been chompin’ at the bit to use.

Now the dip… I wanted that to be shareable.  This is by far my FAVORITE dip to make for my parties.  Since my guests usually scrape the pan clean, I knew I better not have a shortage of it that day.

I did decide to mix up the recipe a bit, and use Kraft French Onion dip as the base.  I had previously “made,” the base of this dip, but when I realized that I could use one of my favorites, straight out of the container… I was all for shaving some time off of my schedule that day.  Besides, who doesn’t love french onion dip?  No worries, I’ll give you the recipe for this glorious dip:
