Oh mylanta. My friends from General Mills, sent over a box of Limited Edition Strawberry Cheerios to me the other day. After staring at the box for 10 minutes with excitement, we decided it was necessary to whip up something chocolate-related, to go along with them. You know, because chocolate covered “strawberry,” just makes sense.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cereal Treats
Using the Cheerios to make a similar “rice krispy treat,” they turned out exactly like we had hoped.
We loved the idea of making them as “pops,” so they were even more fun to eat! Simply insert a popsicle or sucker stick after the treats have become slightly cooled.
You can also make these chocolate covered strawberry cereal treats, in to any shape you like. See below how we got a little creative, making them in to actual “strawberry,” shapes for a little fun.
Forming in to the shapes of strawberries, and using green fondant, cut out “leaf,” & “stem” shapes to stick to the top of the still-warm cereal treats. How cute would these be for a “Farmer’s Market,” themed party? I may just have to style one of those, after seeing how cute the food could be!
I know it says right on the box that the Strawberry Cheerios are “Limited Edition,” but I’m crossing my fingers that these tasty little things stay around a while. Even in a bowl with milk, they quickly became a new favorite.
If you’re seeing this recipe after they’ve already removed the cereal from the shelves, just remember… think outside of the box. There’s bound to be a similar strawberry cereal on shelves that would STILL make a tasty chocolate covered strawberry cereal treat.
Love no-bake recipes? Then you’ll LOVE my Lemon Puppy Chow recipe! My friends BEG me to make this for any daily outing, like I did during our winery day out escapade!
