So as you can probably tell from my photo of the DIY Minion cookies below, I’m no professional cookie decorator. That’s for SURE. BUT… according to my 4 and 1 year old toddlers, they are the best thing ever.

When they had the Despicable Me snacks (which are also part of one of their favorite Minion movies) I saw them light up with excitement, so I knew they’d love these cookies too.
We started by grabbing all of the goodies.
{To make it easy on you, I gave you the links below so you can buy them all in one place and have it shipped right to your door!}
Ingredients:
• OREO’s
• Yellow Candy Melts
•Black Decorating Gel
•Candy Eye Balls

If you have extra Oreos, I have a feeling your kiddos will also love these Cookie Monster Cookies!

I put the candy melts in a glass bowl, and microwaved them on the “defrost,” setting to melt them gently. I followed the directions on the candy melts bag.
When they were all melted, I stirred them, and it was ready for the Oreo’s!

My boys had a blast throwing the cookies into the yellow sea of chocolate. But the hardest part was keeping them from eating the Oreo’s before putting them in. 😉

Toss the Oreo’s around in the yellow chocolate, until fully covered and place them on wax paper. This part wasn’t too pretty, since the boys were helping… but who cares, right? They had fun with it!

Before the chocolate starts to harden, start applying the candy eyeballs.
Then, when the chocolate hardens a little more, start applying the black gel. Circling around the eyeballs, and creating the “glasses,” and then get creative with the mouths.

When the chocolate hardens completely, you’re ready to enjoy the Minion Cookies!
Delicious and Cute!
My boys are already begging to make them again!

Have fun, and good luck!!!
