Substitutions and Variations
- Chocolate – If you prefer different flavors of chocolate, such as milk chocolate or dark chocolate, you can absolutely use that instead! Just follow the recipe as stated, simply switching out any flavor of delicious chocolate.
- Sprinkles – to make these specifically for a holiday, you can add some sprinkles to match the occasion! Right after coating with chocolate, before it hardens, sprinkle your favorite color of sprinkles on to the pecans.
- Plain pecans – you can skip seasoning the pecans if you’d like, and simply just cover them in melted white chocolate but the flavor of the pecans paired with the chocolate, is amazing!
How to Store
If you have leftover pecans after making them, or if you make them in advance, store them in an airtight container once they have cooled off and fully hardened, for best results.

Jessica, I Love your recipe and thank you for your hard work in sharing. I modified it slightly, used two egg whites, instead of one, and whipped them with the vanilla per the recipe, but till almost soft peaks. Used about a 50/50 mix of pecans and walnuts. I found for me that right about 50 minutes baking was optimal. Also, used 6oz of Ghirardelli, loved the extra white chocolate. And one final comment, after one bite, I was addicted, had to quickly put out of site…… 😃

Hi Dave! All of that sounds wonderful, thank you for sharing. I’m so glad that you liked them and thank you for coming back to let us know!

Hi Jessica. Can other nuts be used? I’ve been looking a white chocolate covered walnut recipe that is sooooo good? Can’t find that recipe , but your recipe sounds similar. Thanks
Jessica says
Hi Judy! I’ve never tried another type of nut, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work! The cook time may differ, depending on the nut, but other than that, I can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t be just as delish!! 🙂

Hi Jessica, Just checking that the White Chocolate Spiced Pecans need to be baked for 40 to 60 minutes, and stirred every ONE MINUTE? Was that a typo?
Sounds very yummy but don’t want to open the oven 40 to 60 times. Thanks
Jessica says
Oh my goodness Linda, YES! It was a typo! I’m so sorry about that. It’s stirring every 10 minutes! Eeek, so glad you caught that and said something. I just switched had an update here on the recipe portion of my site, and it didn’t carry that over correctly. Thank you again for letting me know! I hope you enjoy them! XO
