I’ve always kept the ingredients handy to make this quick side dish, on any night of the week. It’s by FAR, my favorite side dish to whip up, when I’m in a hurry & looking for something on the healthy side.
I’m sure there are MANY versions of a caprese salad recipe out there, but over time, I’ve added ingredients… taken away ingredients… and have played with it, until I’ve gotten it RIGHT where I want it. Could you switch up the ingredients?

Back to the Tomato Mozzarella Avocado Salad recipe…
Tomato, avocado, olive oil, kosher salt, dried basil, & mozzarella pearls. That’s it! That’s all that I put in it. But here are a few additional ingredients that you could add, to mix it up a bit:
Additional Ingredient Suggestions:
Garlic Powder, Fresh Basil, Chicken (to create a main dish), Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Dashes of Hot Sauce, for a little heat, Cumin, Red Onion…and I could literally go on & on. The options are endless!
Tomato Mozzarella Avocado Salad
This quick and healthy side dish is the perfect side dish for weeknight meals! So easy to whip up and beyond delicious!
- 1 roma tomato chopped
- 1 avocado peeled & chopped
- 1 package mozzarella pearls
- pinch Kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 Tablespoon olive oil
Combine all of the ingredients and mix until well combined.
Store any leftovers in the fridge.
I've noticed when I've made this in advance, placing it in the fridge, leaves the tomatoes tasteless. For best results and flavoring, make this dish right before serving.
It’s one of my favorites, and staple weeknight recipes. I hope you give it a try and love it too!
I know how hard it is, to keep avocados on hand, before they rot. I’ve made this recipe a TON, only using the cheese and tomatoes. It’s STILL delicious!
