Why You’ll Love This Everything But the Bagel Dip

    • If you like everything bagels, you’re going to love this dip! It has all the bagel flavors of an everything bagel with cream cheese, but you get to dip all of your favorite things in it! (I’d even make it and put it on a bagel bar if hosting, when I’m making this homemade bagels recipe!)
    • Whether you’re a veggies and dip kind of person, a crackers and dip person (or maybe even a dip a slice of cheese in dip kind of person…I won’t tell), this dip is sure to hit the spot. (Of course, alongside our other favorite savory dip, this easy blue cheese dip!)
    • It’s a great snack idea for summer! Super easy to make and nice and cool to serve at a bbq.

    • 1 – 8 ounce cream cheese block, softened

What to Eat with Everything but the Bagel Dip

The best thing about dip is that you can eat it with whatever you want! Here are a few of my favorite ideas for how to eat this everything but the bagel seasoning dip:

    • Spread it on a bagel – I know it sounds extra, but try spreading this everything but the bagel dip on your favorite toasted bagel! It’s delicious.
    • With veggies – If you have picky veggie eaters in your house, serve up a big plate of chopped fresh vegetables with this flavorful dip and watch it all disappear! This is a great way to get your kids to eat more veggies. Serve this dip with celery sticks, carrot sticks or baby carrots, julienned cucumbers, or whatever other veggies your family likes!
    • As a dipping sauce – Whether you’re making chicken wings or French fries, the tangy flavors of this dip make it a good choice as a dipping sauce.
    • On avocado toast – Spread this dip onto some whole grain toast and top it with sliced avocado and an egg if you like. This might become your favorite breakfast – it’s so good! See more avocado toast recipes here!

If you want to serve this easy dip recipe as an appetizer, here are some of our favorite dippers to serve with it:

    • pita chips
    • tortilla chips
    • potato chips
    • fresh vegetables
    • pretzels
    • bagel chips (you can buy these at the grocery store!)

    Substitutions & Variations

This everything bagel dip recipe is pretty great on its own, but if you need to make some changes I have a few suggestions for you!

    • Scallions – you can use chopped green onions instead of scallions.
    • Dairy Free – you can most likely find dairy free cream cheese and sour cream alternatives in your grocery store!
    • Higher Protein – if you want to up the protein in this recipe, you can replace the sour cream with plain greek yogurt!
    • Cream Cheese – you can use full-fat cream cheese or low-fat cream cheese, whatever suits your dietary needs. Personally, I like full-fat cream cheese because it’s very rich and creamy but low-fat cream cheese will work well, too.
    • Copycat Everything But The Bagel Seasoning – If you can’t find everything but the bagel seasoning, you can make your own! Combine 2 tablespoons poppy seeds, 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds, 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds, 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic, 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon dried minced onion, 2 teaspoons flaked sea salt or coarse salt. Once you’ve made up your everything bagel seasoning mix, use 3 tablespoons of it for this recipe!

    Storage

Store your leftover everything bagel dip in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Freezing cream cheese can alter the texture a bit, so freezing isn’t recommended. If you don’t mind if the texture changes, you can definitely freeze this dip in a freezer safe, airtight container or bag for up to three months.
