    Ingredients

See recipe card below for full recipe.

Ingredients for chicken Alfredo garlic bread.
    • chicken breasts – you could also use chicken thighs if you prefer or rotisserie chicken to keep things even easier. (Don’t forget to save the rotisserie carcass to make this rotisserie chicken broth.)
    • mozzarella cheese – if you have time, shredding your own mozzarella cheese is recommended since pre-shredded, store-bought cheese tends to have an anti-caking agent on it that keeps it from melting as smoothly.
    • butter – salted butter is recommended but you can use unsalted if that’s what you have on hand.
    • seasonings – garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper come together to flavor the chicken.
    • heavy cream – this is used to make the Alfredo sauce and is recommended more than milk, or half-and-half.
    • French bread – I usually find a loaf of French bread in the bakery at my local grocery store. If you buy it in the frozen aisle, make sure you get plain, and not the pre-seasoned bread.

How to Make Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread

    Top Tip:

    • If your bread is not getting crispy enough, you can toast it before adding the toppings and then bake it for 10-15 minutes after topping it with sauce and chicken just to get the cheese melted.
    • Add spice to the top with pickled jalapenos or red pepper flakes. If you desire a deeper level of heat, you can add ½ teaspoon of cayenne powder to your alfredo sauce while you’re cooking it.

    • ½ cup salted butter room temperature
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley minced
    • 1 loaf French bread

    Chicken

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 pound chicken breast cut in half, lengthwise
    • 1 teasoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder

    Alfredo Sauce

    • 2 cups Alfredo sauce Using my Alfredo sauce recipe

    Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread

    • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
    • ½ cup parmesan cheese shredded
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

    How to Make Garlic Butter

    • In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic, and parsley. Cut your loaf of French bread half lengthwise and spread the butter mixture over both halves of the bread. Place the bread onto the sheet pan and set it aside.

    How to Cook Chicken

    • Season both sides of the chicken with the onion powder, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
    • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until both sides are golden brown and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and allow it to rest for 3-4 minutes. Slice your chicken into half-inch pieces.

    Making Alfredo Sauce

    • In a large skillet, add your heavy cream, butter, and garlic. Cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally until the heavy cream has started to thicken. Slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese, a little at a time, until all of the cheese has melted. Continue to cook until the sauce has reached a thick consistency.

    Assemble Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread

    • Spread about ¾ of the Alfredo sauce over the bread in an even layer. Sprinkle your mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top and evenly distribute the sliced chicken breast over the cheese. Drizzle the remaining alfredo sauce over the top.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bread is crispy.
    • Sprinkle your parsley over the top of the bread and slice into 1 to 2-inch pieces.

    Notes

If your bread isn’t as crispy as you’d like it to be, you can toast it before adding the toppings and then bake it for 10-15 minutes after topping it with sauce and chicken just to get the cheese melted.
