Frozen Garlic Bread in Air Fryer: Such an easy way to make this easy side dish, that comes out with crisp edges and a soft center. Made in less time than the oven (because it doesn’t require pre-heating a large oven) and is our personal preference for making garlic toast!

Cooking frozen foods in the air fryer has become so popular in our house and for so many! It’s sometimes faster than convection ovens and it doesn’t require preheating a large oven, keeping the heat down in the kitchen.

So if you’re thinking of making more air fryer recipes and frozen foods in the air fryer too, then how we cook frozen biscuits in the air fryer and even frozen waffles in the air fryer, may be helpful for you!

    Why This Method Works

    • Crisp Edges and Soft Centers: There’s something special about the air fryer cooking method that gives garlic toast the texture we love.
    • Cook from Frozen: Even from frozen, you can cook air fryer texas toast or garlic toast in the air fryer without preheating, and it’s ready to eat in minutes!

    What You’ll Need

All you’ll need is the frozen garlic bread, straight from the packaging, to make this! How many you’ll need will depend on how many you want to cook and how many will fit in the air fryer tray.

    Substitutions

There are many different brands and types of garlic bread that you can find at the grocery store, so it can vary but here are the most common types:

    • Cheesy Garlic Bread – We love the 5 cheeses garlic toast and since it’s frozen it cooks nicely in the air fryer. Sometimes when making a homemade garlic bread recipe, the air fryer can blow the cheese off of the garlic bread slices.
    • Garlic Toast without Cheese – even though we used garlic cheese toast for this, you will cook toast without cheese at the same time, at the same temperature.
    • Texas Toast – we used frozen Texas toast garlic bread this for this how-to example and you may have this in many different flavors and types but ultimately it has the same cooking method. We also love using Texas toast to make this Texas Toast Pizza!
    • Garlic Bread – You may also have garlic bread in loaf form, that’s sliced and that should have the same method of cooking as well.

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread

*Be sure to see the printable recipe card below.

STEP 1. Place in basket. Place frozen pieces of garlic toast in a single layer, in the air fryer basket, without overlapping them (Image 1).

STEP 2. Cook. Turn the temperature to 400° F and set the timer for 6 minutes or until golden brown, and air fry garlic bread. (NOTE: Some air fryers cook differently than others and I’ve had them range anywhere from 6 minutes to 10 minutes of cooking time so it may be good to check halfway for best results.)

    Pro Tip

No need to flip. Since the air fryer works by cycling hot air around inside, there’s no need to flip the garlic bread.

    Storage

If you have leftover garlic bread allow it to cool and then store in a plastic bag or airtight container and place it at room temperature unless it’s cheesy bread. The best way to store that is in the refrigerator.

What to Serve Garlic Bread With:

You can serve garlic bread with so many different things like your favorite pasta dinner such as our favorite Chicken Bolognese, and especially something like tomato soup. Or, it’s the perfect side dish for easy recipes like this Lasagna Soup, this Chicken and Noodles recipe, and this Cream Cheese Pasta.

    Recipe FAQs

How long do you cook frozen garlic bread?

There are a few different ways that you can cook frozen garlic bread; in the oven, in a toaster oven, and in the air fryer!

How long does garlic bread take in air fryer?

The time can vary for different air fryers and we’ve found that some can cook at 400° for only 6 minutes, up to 10 minutes, so it’s best to check halfway through to see which is the best cook time for your air fryer.

Can you reheat garlic bread in air fryer?

Absolutely. Since it won’t be frozen, it won’t take as long to cook so start with a 2-3 minutes and keep an eye on it.
