    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • It uses easy-to-find, simple ingredients: All of the ingredients you’ll need to make this peanut butter cookie dip are easy to find at your local grocery store making your shopping list simple as can be.
    • Make-ahead recipe: You can easily make a big batch of this sweet treat ahead of time and snack on it all week long.
    • Comes together quick: This dip recipe comes together in minutes before needing to chill which makes it ideal for making the morning of your party!

    Ingredients Needed

I’ve highlighted a couple of ingredients below with some relevant notes. Aside from this, the ingredients needed are pretty basic.

Labeled ingredients for peanut butter fluff.
    • Cream Cheese – Make sure you use room temperature, softened cream cheese for this recipe.
    • Peanut Butter – We used creamy peanut butter for this recipe to make the dip super creamy.
    • Marshmallow Cream – This ingredient is essential for creating that fluffy dip!
    • Peanut Butter Cups – If you have extra, make these chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies!

If you love anything peanut-flavored, you’ll also love this vintage peanut brittle recipe!

    Substitutions

Sometimes substitutions are necessary because of ingredients that are unavailable or needed for dietary restrictions. Here are some suggestions that can help:

    • Peanut Butter – Natural peanut butter would work for this recipe, too. If you cannot have peanut butter, any alternative nut butter would work. Just make sure it is creamy!
    • Dairy – Feel free to use your favorite dairy-free products in this recipe.

    Variations

There are a few different variations you can make with this yummy dip recipe:

    • Candies – We used Reese’s peanut butter cups and Mini Chocolate Chips for this recipe, but feel free to use whichever chocolatey candies you enjoy most. Some peanut butter chips would also be yummy! For an extra crunch, try out some graham crackers or even potato chips.
    • Peanut Butter – While we enjoy the use of creamy peanut butter most, you could swap in your favorite chunky peanut butter.
    • Cocoa Powder – Change up this recipe and make it a chocolate peanut butter dip by mixing in some cocoa powder.

How to Make Peanut Butter Mousse

Putting this creamy peanut butter dip together is super simple.

This Peanut Butter Fluff is broken into 2 components:

    • Mixing together
    • Chilling

I suggest making this dip the morning before you plan to serve it for optimal chilling time.

*Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full ingredients list & instructions!*

You’re going to start this crowd-pleaser recipe by bringing out a large bowl and electric mixer. If you prefer a stand mixer, you can use that instead of a hand mixer.

Then go ahead and pop the chopped peanut butter cups and mini chocolate chips into the freezer, using freezer-safe containers or ziplock bags. Now we can get started!

Steps 1-4 of how to make peanut butter fluff.

STEP 1. Whip together the base. Begin by putting the cream cheese spread, marshmallow creme, and peanut butter in the bowl of a stand or hand mixer with a paddle attachment. Mix them on medium speed until they are well combined. (Image 1).

Tip: Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid clumps.

STEP 2. Add vanilla extract. Reduce the speed to low and gradually add the vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.

STEP 3. Fold in whipped topping. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated. (Image 2).

STEP 4. Fold in your candies. Retrieve the frozen chocolates and blend in ¾ of a cup of mini chocolate chips and 2 cups of peanut butter cups. Place the remaining peanut butter cups and mini chocolate chips back in the freezer. (Image 3).

STEP 5. Chill. Transfer the prepared peanut butter fluff to your serving dish and refrigerate it for 2-3 hours to chill. (Image 4).

STEP 6. Serve. When you’re ready to serve, sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of mini chocolate chips and the remaining cup of peanut butter cups on top. Serve with optional side accompaniments.

    Recipe Pro Tips

    • Allow to fully chill. This recipe tastes best chilled for at least 2-3 hours.
    • Correct temperature. Make sure your cream cheese is softened and your candies are frozen for optimal dip-making.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I halve or double this recipe?

Peanut Butter Fluff is perfect for gatherings, and this particular recipe yields a generous portion. If you prefer a smaller batch, you can easily halve the ingredients. Or if you are feeding a large crowd, it is very easy to double!

Why do I need to freeze the chocolates?

Before cutting the chocolates, I recommend freezing them. This minimizes mess and prevents them from melting everywhere.

How to fold in whipped cream to peanut butter fluff?

When adding the whipped topping, consider doing it in stages. This approach makes it much simpler to blend into your fluff.

What other candies can I use in peanut butter fluff?

Feel free to get creative with the candies! Try using Reese's Pieces or even chopped Butterfinger for a fun twist!

How can I make this recipe healthier?

For a healthier version, you could swap in PB2 powder for the peanut butter or Greek yogurt for the cream cheese. This will also add more protein!

What is good to dip in peanut butter fluff?

Peanut butter fluff dip is incredibly versatile, and there are numerous delectable options for dipping. Fresh fruit slices like apples, bananas, strawberries, and grapes provide a healthy and refreshing contrast to the sweet and creamy dip.

Classic choices such as chocolate graham crackers or chewy peanut butter cookies offer a satisfying crunch that pairs perfectly with the peanut butter and marshmallow flavors of this creamy dip.

You can also try out the savory side with pretzels or even potato chips for a delightful blend of salty and sweet. If you’re feeling adventurous, try dipping crispy bacon strips for a unique twist. Other options include marshmallows, cookies, rice cakes, celery sticks, and even mini donut holes.

What to Serve with Peanut Butter Fluff

There are so many options for dipping, but I would suggest starting with some new recipes like Monster Cookies, Oreo Rice Krispie Treats, or these yummy Bronuts (brownie donuts)! Take it a step further and use it as filling for some fluffernutter sandwiches.

If you are looking for healthier options, some fresh fruit such as apple slices or bananas would be perfect with the yummy peanut butter flavor.

    Storage

To keep your Peanut Butter Fluff fresh, store it in the refrigerator within an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap. This helps prevent it from absorbing any unwanted odors or flavors from other fridge items.

When stored properly, your Peanut Butter Fluff should maintain its quality for approximately 1-2 weeks. However, remember to inspect it for any signs of spoilage, such as an unusual odor or mold growth, before enjoying it.

It’s worth noting that freezing isn’t recommended for this dip, as it can cause separation and a liquid consistency when thawed.
