Yesterday I shared “Part 1 of our Home Tour” with the photos of the exterior of our house. {See that post here: Home Tour Part 1: The Exterior}
Well welcome to “Part 2, Our Master Bedroom.” I knew when we built the new house, I wanted to keep the duvet cover that we were already using {because I LOVE it so, but also because I’m a tightwad and didn’t want to spend money on a new one.} š
I did however, want to add some “mmff” to the bedding by adding some pillows. I knew I wanted to keep it pretty neutral, knowing that I like change and may want to change in the near future, but also because I have more of a modern taste when it comes to decorating. My husband also told me that he didn’t want a room too “girly.” So, gray and white it was! Perfect compromise!
Above the bed are pictures of one of my little guys. My oldest was only months old when we had these photos taken, and I just loved them so much that I had to blow them up. š Now that my second son is here, I’ve replaced the photos with one of him, and my oldest!
Interested in where I bought some of the items? Here’s the rundown:
Pillows:
- Pillow front and center: I bought this from Target.com, and it was part of the Nate Berkus collection. {Love his dƩcor!}
- The two gray pillows in the second row, with the crazy square design, were purchased off of Etsy from Festive Home DĆ©cor, as pillow covers, and I just bought the pillow inserts from Walmart.com
- Then finally the two rectangular pillows with the ruffles, were purchased at Home Goods. Oh how I love Home Goods!
Duvet Cover:
- This duvet came from Target. {Seriously, I should own stock in Target.}
Lamps:
Our lamps came from, wherelse, Target š
You can barely see below, that we have a closet on each side of the entry to the bedroom. I honestly wasn’t sure how I would like having to walk between our closets, to enter the bedroom, but I LOVE how they’re so convenient. We can of course pull the doors closed if the closet is a mess, and when we are doing laundry or just need a coat out, we don’t have to walk far!
I remember when we were building, I couldn’t figure out what my husband had planned for the ceiling in our bedroom. It wasn’t until about a week before we moved in, that I saw the finished project and it made complete sense. {Hey… he’s the home expert… not me! Haha!} Not only does the trayed ceiling add great character, but there is also lighting built in, and it puts off a soft glow! By FAR my favorite part of the master bedroom!
This mirror has traveled with me through 5 houses. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mirror. It’s a full length mirror, so I can make sure I don’t look hideous before I leave the house, but the best part??? I only paid $50 for it at Kirkland Home back in 2007. It was a steal! Whoop whoop!
Yep, this is the perfect little sitting/reading area, but let’s be honest… the only time it gets used is when we need to sit down and put our shoes on, or when my two year old uses it as a trampoline. š
I’m so glad you came to visit today. I hate that it couldn’t be in person, so we could have a cocktail and visit… but it was still nice to have you. š

Love the wall color, can you please let me know what color you used! Gorgeous?
Jessica says
Hello! It is called “Pavestone,” from Sherwin Williams!
jean says
Love the sleigh bed. Who is the manufacturer? Where did you purchase it?
Jessica says
Hi Jean! Thank you! {and thank you so much for stopping by!!!} We purchased it at a local furniture store. Oh no… I’m not sure what brand it is!! Would you believe that? We bought it so many years ago, that I can’t remember. I’d go take a look at it, but it’s underneath all of our mattresses, on the inside board of the bed! If I ever get a chance, I’m going to take a look again and let you know… especially now that I’m curious! š
Christina says
Please do let us know the manufacturer of your bed if you can. I’m looking for a bed for us too and I LOVE this one!! I know that Ethan Allen makes a bed similar to this but it’s pricey so if there is a vendor that has it for less, PLEASE let us know!! š
Jessica says
Hi Christina! I couldn’t find it on the bed anywhere, but we did purchase it as a set with a chest of drawers, night stand, etc. The chest of drawers had the manufacturer on it, and it’s a BROYHILL! I hope that helps!!!
Christina says
Oh yes!!! Thank you so very much!!!
Jessica says
You bet! š
Jessica says
HI Jean! I just wanted to let you know in case you are still wondering what brand the bed is, and it’s a BROYHILL! I hope that helps!!! Sorry it took so long to find out! XO
Casey says
I love this duvet. I’ve been eyeing it at Target for when we get our new bedroom furniture. Have you needed to wash it much? We have a white quilt and comforter now and haven’t needed to but I am wondering if the pinches/pleats pull out after washing or throwing it around much. That’s my only hesitation. Is it holding up to daily use? š
Beautiful bedroom!
Jessica says
Hey!! Honesty, I haven’t had to wash it much at all. I probably need to wash it more than I do. Haha. I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old that are on if all of the time too!
The pleats are in tact like the day I bought it!
I’ve owned it since 2011, and it still looks great!!!
I say go for it! š
stacy says
Beautiful!!!! Love the decor š what color is on the walls? I love it !!!
Jessica says
Aw, thank you! We used “Pavestone,” which is a Sherwin Williams brand of paint! I was also a fan of “pussywillow,” from Sherwin Williams too, which is a lighter gray, but I am super happy with the pavestone! š I hope that helps!

Oh my gosh that bed is amazing! We are sleeping on a bed that my husband has had since we were engaged the first time, 20 years ago! Now that we are married much later in life, I am nudging him toward a new bed, ha! I told him that’s what I want for my 43rd birthday. I also love that stand up mirror, very nice!
Jessica says
Thank you so much! New bedroom furniture can be so fun! Isn’t it amazing how it changes after we get older, what items we wants for birthday’s? Ask me 15 years ago, a new bed would have been depressing. Now… HOT DOG! Haha! Good luck!!!
Tammy says
It’s all beautiful. I’m lucky if our bed gets made, much less have all those beautiful pillows. I love the lighting too. It shows what a great architect and builder your husband is.
Jessica says
Ha! Oh trust me… I’m the same way. Our bed was made, so I took advantage and snapped some photos! It doesn’t happen often. š Thank you, I’ll for sure let him know the compliment! š
Tess says
Wow, so beautiful again! I love that bed set up and now i want to change mine. lol
Jessica says
Haha! Oh gosh, I know. Anytime I see a new bed set that I like, I’m wanting to change it up! Well if you decide too, check out the links I provided, because I LOVE checking those places for bedding!
Adelien says
I love the cushions. They make me want to sleep already right now.
Jessica says
Thank you! Haha! I know… I love sleeping with a lot of pillows, but it’s a shame the decorative pillows get thrown in the floor! š
Rebekah says
Your husband is an awesome designer! I love the recessed ceiling!
Jessica says
Aw, thank you! I’ll for sure let him know what you said!
Jill @ Called To Be A Mom says
This is beautiful as well! I love the two closet idea! Your hubby did well!
Jessica says
Thank you! That’s so sweet!
TheBargainBabe says
Love your bedspread, I’ve been wanting to do a white one but am so afraid of stains! Drool, kids running around..ugh. I just don’t know if it could STAY white!
Jessica says
I was soooo worried about a white one, but honestly, it’s been perfectly fine! Plus, with it being a duvet, you can pull it off and throw it in the washer anytime!
