If you’re like me, you’re all about last minute, simple gifts.
I’m the worst procrastinator about some things, and that includes gift-buying. I LOVE giving gifts. Like, my heart goes CRAZY pitter-pat, when I give someone something. I love seeing their face light up, of surprise, or thankfulness.
But there’s just some reason that I REALLY drag out buying a gift. So, I usually find myself scrambling at the last minute to come up with something. To ease the stress of this last minute scramble, I keep a few go-to gift items in my back pocket. {But not literally. THAT would get uncomfortable.} 😉
Redbox Movie Night Gift Box

Talk about easy. Talk about creative. And talk about affordable. This gift is perfect for those people in your life that tend to lend a helping hand occasionally. Coaches, delivery driver, neighbor, carpool parent, tutor, or ANYONE how may need a movie night on their schedule.
Movie Night Gift Tutorial:
• I just start with grabbing a simple, open box, that’s large enough to fit in what all I want to include in it.
• Next, I layer in festive fabric, tissue paper, or tissue shreds, to create a fun base for the goodies that I’m about to stash in.
• The star of the show, is of course the Redbox Code. Create a simple little gift tag, and add a fun little saying, like “Silent Night, Movie Night,” and go online here, to purchase one {or as many as you like}, and fill out the gift tag with the code{s} they’ll need to snag a movie, or two, for their movie night!

• Next, I fill with goodies that would compliment a fabulous movie night at home. For this particular gift, I filled it with candy covered chocolates, {wrapped in a sweet little brown favor bag}, a bottle of soda with a festive paper straw, popcorn kernels {in a cute little jar}, and 2 brown paper bags.
Our DIY Microwave Popcorn
You see, we don’t eat store-bought, microwave popcorn bags, in our house anymore. We don’t have anything against it really, but the minute that we found out that we could easily pop, popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag… we were sold. We are able to choose how much popcorn we want, it doesn’t have the chemicals on it, that some of the store-bought microwave popcorn bags do, and it’s super easy to make. No oils to cook with, no nothing. Just throw some kernels in one brown paper bag, open another brown paper bag, and slide it on over the other, creating a closed-in “box-like,” contraption. Pop it in the microwave for a couple of minutes {or push the “popcorn,” setting if you have one, and let it roll.} When you hear the “popping,” slow down… yank it out. {Unless you like it burnt.} 😉
We have fun with it, and throw on melted butter, and various seasonings to mix it up from time to time!
So to not only provide them with the popcorn, we are also introducing our “new way,” of popcorn making.
I clipped the gift tag to the brown paper bag, and it was ready to “give!”

So instead of trying to guess what movies the person likes, or trying to determine if they already have it… let them choose what movie they want, by giving them a Red Box code.
You can snag Redbox promo codes for as low as $1.50 a person, and can be used for 1-day rentals on movies and games, and the codes never expire. Just redeem the code{s} at any of the kiosks that you come across. There are actually more Redbox kiosks in the U.S., than McDonald’s and Starbucks combined. Who knew!?
You can even get new-release DVD’s, Blu-ray Disc’s and video game rentals through Redbox. I sooo didn’t know that they had game rentals too. I can see this gift box becoming VERY popular with the older kids on our gift-buying list.
A few of my recommended movie choices right now are:
• Jurassic World
• Inside Out
• Pixels
• Max
• Rikki and the Flash
• Pitch Perfect 2
• Ant Man
• Tomorrow Land
