❤️ The Joy of Christmas Movie Nights
In a world of phones, video games, and all kinds of distractions, having a tradition of a Christmas movie night can be a great way to bring your family or group of friends together to celebrate the Christmas season, and spend quality time together.
Now, although spending time with others will be amazing in itself, you can make the night epic by adding in some of these suggestions to make it the best movie night ever!
🎄 Atmosphere
Creating the perfect atmosphere before the movie even starts can help get everyone in the mood!
- Cozy, cozy, cozy. We’re talking fuzzy blankets, pillows, bean bags, sleeping bags, or whatever else your room will need to make everyone feel cozy and comfortable during the movie.
- Smells. Whether you’re making Christmas cookies, simmering a pot of holiday smells, and that’s what’s adding the comforting smell to the room, or you have your favorite candle or air freshener (we use a Pura and use the seasonal scents), the smell of the room can help put the Christmas spirit in the air!
- Decorate. If you have Christmas lights, a tree, tinsel, or garlands, you can decorate your space with any of these to help add some Christmas cheer!
🥨 Snack Ideas
You can’t have a Christmas movie night without yummy snacks! You can do a themed food night, like foods from the movie “Elf” or even do something fun like a taco bar or a nacho bar!
Or, if Christmas-themed snacks are on the menu, here are some of our favorites:
🥛 Drink Ideas
Keep the holiday spirit alive with drinks for the kids and even the adults! From punch recipes, hot drinks, and even cocktails, these are our favorites for serving alongside movie night food:
👚 Christmas Pajamas
Part of the Christmas tradition in our house is buying new Christmas pajamas for the kiddos to open on the night of Thanksgiving. (TIP: Buy pajamas that are Christmas colors but not necessarily “Christmas” specific, so they can wear them all year!)
Where to get Christmas pajamas? We love getting them at Old Navy or The Children’s Place for the kids and the adults.
